Well that cost you some nerd cred. The decade ends in nine months.
You are correct in the original usage of the term decade - a period of ten years (the OED lists the first use in 1605 in T. Hutton's Resons for Refusal at p. 121 "So many tens or decads [sic] of yeares.") Of course, by that definition, I am also correct. A decade can be any ten year period, which can begin or end at any point you choose.
Among the non-pedantic, however, a decade has come to mean a ten year period of time beginning on a 00, 10, 20...year and ending on 09, 19, 29 and so forth. There is no doubt, for example, that events from 1980 would be included in VH1's I Love the 80s and those of 1990 would be omitted. Should you not be convinced by the wise minds of VH1, let me point you to the Cambridge dictionary. There, decade is defined as "a period of ten years, especially a period such as 2010 to 2019."
If nothing else, I hope that at least a scintilla of nerd cred has been restored.
You sum kinda lawyer or sumpin?
Just finished it tonight. Great game. Story was fun. Action was incredible.
This game has improved on every aspect of the game from Doom2016. Never has it been better, never has it been funner to slaughter thousands of demons. Seriously all should play it.
Great FPS, terrible platformer. I don't regret buying it, I had a blast, but for a fast paced shooter, I really don't understand why they added these platform "puzzle" that just slowed down between sections. The upside is it gave enough time for me to kick start my heart back, and wipe the bucket of sweat pouring out of my hands.
I do enjoy the new ammo/resources gameplay mecanics, pushing you to strategize, like who would I kill first, how will I spend my most powerful abilities/weapon. It's like chess, but you are playing against a cocaine addict with a shotgun.
