Ok boys and girls, thinking of doing some more maps and or modifying existing ones that we already play.
I have three fixed versions that you guys currently play
    - Great Heights - I fixed the breaking teleporter bug for the blue team - makes tha map more Balanced
    - BuzzardNest - fixed the broken spawn room
    - Dynamite - fixed that one two - balance it out more.
If you want/need the fixed versions let me know.
Also - please give me your feedback on the maps that we do play (mine)- this way I can improve your gaming experience :)

I'll also make a poll to get some ideas for one that I am currently working on.

One idea is to just break badwater so its unplayable. That way we can play some other maps!

Great Heights is a lot of fun! It's one of those maps that will convince me to go an extra round if I'm on the fence about quitting for the night.

Though I can see obvious flaws (e.g. chokepoints, overly-long sightlines, etc.) I'm not too familiar with the elements of good map design. That said, from a gameplay perspective I enjoy maps with an element of verticality (one of the things I like so much about Great Heights), and aesthetically I have a weakness for winter maps and sunset/nighttime maps (with good lighting).

I chose Daytime, Indoor/Outdoor, Boom Ending, and 0-1 traps and here's why:
From a design standpoint, Lighting can change the mood of the map but not the game-play, besides pointing out important places with accent lighting, so therefore since it's easier to make use Daytime lighting that will open up your time and energy to be used designing and tweaking game-play spaces. While it may be easier to make a map completely indoors or outdoors, given the proper planning and execution a map spanning both outdoor and indoor spaces is just as easy to accomplish, and will take on a more dynamic aesthetic and can open up new ideas for routing pathways. A boom, well what's a payload map without the explosion at the end, and since it's as easy as copy/paste into the map then I do believe you should include it. And that brings me to the traps, now I don't know the ultimate size of the map you are planning but 10 traps just sounds like too many. This isn't trainsawlaser, the goal isn't for the map to kill players often, it's to punish players who aren't looking where they're going. I also thing 0-1 is too few and a more reasonable number should be settled on by way of purposeful location and not sheer number. I'd love to see some kind of plan or sketch or blockwork for this map, and to follow it through the design process!

I agree with Mouse with regards to the number and types of traps/hazards. I tend to like hazards that serve a purpose (like cliffs marking the boundary of a map) and blend in well with the rest of the map ... think the pit at the end of Upward, or the drop at the end of Frontier. Contrast with the random pit near the end of Beerbowl, which while fun to airblast people into, has never made much sense to me and never really seemed to fit the rest of the map.

First off, let me say I really enjoy your maps. I really didn't put much thought into design while I was playing, I'm sure it wasn't the beer. I will go over them some more this weekend and get back to you, while sober.

You're gonna be sober this weekend? Is this a cry for help? Have you been kidnapped and this is a signal?
